I Can Do This

Ahhhhhh, It seems that I am unable to keep up on my blog right now. I think I am going to have to make typing something part of a daily or at least weekly routine. I have several projects to share, I just need the time to take pictures and search the web for the sites I got the ideas from. I want to give credit where credit is due.

So, very soon, as in ASAP, I will be putting up the pictures of the little circle turkeys we made and the felt food I am making Kiki for her Birthday, which is on October 21. I am going to honestly try and make as much as possible until that date. Then I am moving on to the quite books for Christmas. There should be some great pictures for that. Some Christmas Ornaments for the ornament exchange at Grandma Bunny's house and I still need to figure out how many homemade cards I want to make and how many people are going to get the ones I bought after the holidays last year. Last, but not least, I need to make a couple of hot/cold rice bags for gifts and some pillow cases for my babies.

I am sitting down and working in time for these projects, even if it is only 15 minutes a day. I can do this. Maybe I should try a schedule again. This time I won't use someone else's, but will make my own, with a realistic look at what is going on in the Farmer Stone household.
I CAN DO THIS!

Hand stitched Cards

It is so busy right now. I have had to many little projects that take up a lot of time. Finally got finished with my free shutterfly album and got that ordered. I LOVE Shutterfly! It is the best place to share, order and organize your digital pictures and no I don't work for them or anything like that. I have been working on some fun projects, but I don't have any pictures to show. I have heard really good things about picnik and have really thought about checking that site out and seeing what they offer.

I am working on some hand-stitched cards. I think they are pretty and am going to start some for Christmas. My first attempts were flowers that I found on the blog Make and Takes. Here are her basic instructions for hand stitched cards. She has several cute patterns you can use or you can go out and find your own, which is what I am doing for Christmas. Free coloring pages are very handy!

Sorry about the pictures. I seem to have issues with lighting when I take pictures in my kitchen. I will have to find a new spot.

The last two weeks

I have not disappeared from the world of THE BLOG. Although it may seem that way. It does to me. I have been extra crazy busy these last couple of weeks. Wa is going to start preschool tomorrow and that has proven to be extra stressful on me. I have had to take several trip to "The City" to get supplies. I also spent a weekend with my sisters, which was fantastic. I have done NOTHING on my list of things I would like to get done before Christmas, big shocker there. Instead, I have starting making more felt food for Kiki's 2nd birthday, which is October 21st. Then I am going to be working on the quiet books I have already started for the kids as their Christmas gifts. There are also several homemade gifts I need to get started. I have the fabric, but I need to buy the rest of the items to finish them up. As I get things done, I will take pictures and try to get them up.

Not doing craft projects

Sadly, I am not doing craft projects right now. Instead, I am trying to organize several rooms at once, which is a really bad idea. For some reason I think it is impossible to reorganize the living room, and down size the mega toy collection, unless I work in the kids room first. Since I am organizing, I feel like I should do the pantry. Every time I reorganize that I realize I didn't buy any of the storage containers that I wanted and needed. On and on it goes, where it stops, well it doesn't. As always, this time will be different! I have a list and am going to go shopping on Wednesday. We will see what I can afford and what I actually come home with. I think I am going to do some hunting on-line and see what kind of home-made storage and organization "stuff" I can find. Someone out there has to have a blog about this.

Crafts I Want To Do

My list of crafts I want to do or get finished is at least a mile long. As is the list of things I should be doing around the house, but that list isn't nearly as fun. I keep setting deadlines for myself, but that does not seem to be helping. So, I decided to put a short list up on here so they are up for all the world to see. Plus, I like lists, well I like checking things off of lists anyway. I would like to see what I can get finished by December.

1. Finish hand quilting baby quilt for cousin that is now over a year old. Guess he isn't getting that quilt now.

2. Finish the 8 (not exaggerating the number there either) other baby quilts I have started and have just never finished. Yikes, that is a bad track record there.

3. Finish Quiet Books for Wa and Kiki. They are suppose to be Christmas presents.

4. Hand Stitch Christmas Cards. I still need to figure out how many of these I need to make. Some people are going to get the cards I bought at MENARDS on after-Christmas sale.

Yikes!! Looking at that list, I think we're done for now. There is no way I am going to get all those quilts done, unless I magically get a machine quilter and stop doing them by hand. I am not going to start another craft or project until I finish this list. Yeah Right!!!!

WELCOME

Welcome to Mrs. Farmer Stone. I am a busy stay-at-home mother of two beautiful children. Wa, my son, is three years old and Kiki, my daughter, is 21 months old. (Yes, those are the knick-names they gave each other, not their real names.) My husband, Farmer Stone, is a family farmer in rural north-east Nebraska. With Farmer Stone's Parents, we have mostly corn and soybeans, with a little oats, a small cow/calf herd, a few feeder cattle, varies cats, and a border collie named Daisy. Here in Nebraska Football is king, so I will probably complain bitterly, at some point or another, about the lengths of both the college and NFL football seasons. I only bring this up because there is already a count-down in my house.

My hopes for this blog are pretty basic. I just want a place to write. I hope to add crafts and other projects that I do or at least attempt to do. I have started MULTIPLE projects, so I should have something to write sometimes. I will also be writing about my children, husband, family and anything else that tickles my fancy. This blog is mostly for me. So, it will be just as random as I am!
